Kane County, IL: Fox River Bridge Time Lapse

Posted by Infra on Tuesday, February 19th, 2013

OMEGA provided construction engineering services for the Kane County Division of Transportation’s $25 million Fox River Bridge Construction from McLean Boulevard to IL 25 near South Elgin. This 18-month project included construction of a 5-span, steel plate girder main bridge; a combination steel truss and precast concrete pedestrian bridge and ramp; over two miles of new concrete pavement; signalized intersections and lighting; and extensive below ground and open channel drainage systems.

The work was performed under a stringent set of environmental commitments and OMEGA’s personnel were responsible for ensuring permit compliance to a wide variety of government agencies, including the Army Corps of Engineers. OMEGA was also instrumental in assisting the contractor with devising alternate methods of caisson construction and testing due to complex geological conditions in the river bed. – OmegaAssociates on YouTube
