Utah DOT: Top Ten Projects of 2018

UDOT crews will work on 188 highway construction projects scheduled across the state this year, with a combined value of $1.46 billion. Planned improvements range from small sidewalk and street light installations, to the rebuilding of a 12-lane section of urban freeway. Within the Top 10, projects include widening and rebuilding freeways, constructing new interchanges or redesigning existing ones, and repaving and upgrading other local/regional highways.

Utah DOT: Pedestrian Bridge Over Bangerter Highway (Time Lapse)

Wednesday, September 27th, 2017

UDOT closed Bangerter Highway near 7000 South the night of Aug. 19 while crews installed a new pedestrian bridge. The bridge is part of the Bangerter Interchanges project. UDOT is building a freeway-like overpass at 7000 S. This new pedestrian bridge over Bangerter Highway replaces one that was removed earlier this year to make room for the overpass.

Saratoga Springs, UT: Preparing Redwood Road for the Future

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will improve Redwood Road south of Pioneer Crossing in Saratoga Springs over the next two years. The improvements, which are scheduled to begin this summer, are designed to reduce congestion and extend the life of the roadway.

Utah DOT: CANgineering – Canned Food Sculpture Competition

Utah DOT: Repaving “Forrest Gump Hill”

Did you know Forrest Gump ended his years long run here in Utah? UDOT is starting a new repaving project in that area this week. The repayment of U.S. 163 will improve mobility and safety on 10 miles of highway, including the popular “Forrest Gump Hill.”
