Washington State DOT: Building the Floating Bridge over Lake Washington

The project won a 2016 Excellence in Design (Engineering) Award from the Design-Build Institute of America.

Lake Washington, WA: Coffer Cell Launch

Tuesday, December 10th, 2013

On Nov. 26, 2013, SR 520 bridge construction crews launched a 660-ton coffer cell onto Lake Washington. This coffer cell will be used to create a dry work space so that crews can complete repairs to the end walls of Pontoon U and Pontoon V on Lake Washington.
