From Regional Plan Association:

Airports Conference

Dear RPA members and supporters,

On behalf of Regional Plan Association staff and Board of Directors, we invite you to an important conference on airports on Thursday, January 27th, 2011 at the JP Morgan Chase Conference Center, One Chase Manhattan Plaza, 60th floor, in New York City from 8:00am – 2:00pm.

Upgrading to World Class: The Future of the New York Region’s Airports will be a premier event aimed at addressing the chronic problem of airport congestion and delays at Newark, JFK and LaGuardia airports. Delays in the New York region are consistently ranked amongst the worst in the nation, costing the local economy an estimated $2.6 billion per year in lost time, fuel and wages and creating a delay ripple effect around the nation and globally. Passenger growth is expected to continue but no plan is in place to address current airport constraints and meet future needs.

The conference will bring together hundreds of top business, civic, academic, philanthropic, media and government leaders from across the metropolitan region and nation to hear about and discuss actionable solutions. The centerpiece for discussion will be the roll-out of recommendations emerging from a two-year long collaborative planning and research process to determine the New York region’s airport capacity needs over the next generation and potential gains from a series of actions.

We hope you can join us for this important discussion. If you have any questions about the conference, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can let Steven Salzgeber know your response at ssalzgeber@rpa.org or at 212/253-2727 ext.333. You may also learn more or register online by visiting www.BetterAirportsNow.org/conference.

We look forward to your reply and hope that you will be able to join us for this exciting event.

Sincerely,

Elliot Sander

Dear Friends,

It is encouraging to finally see clear signs of federal action to support a comprehensive US infrastructure investment plan.

Now more than ever, our advocacy is needed to keep stakeholders informed and connected, and to hold politicians to their promises to finally fix our nation’s ailing infrastructure.

We have already engaged nearly 280,000 users, and hoping to add many more as interest continues to grow.

We require your support in order to rise to this occasion, to make the most of this opportunity. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to InfrastructureUSA.org.
