Funded by Oregon DOT, Oregon Safe Routes to School and the U.S. DOT, this video demonstrates how rectangular rapid flashing beacons work at a crosswalk. Oregon DOT just installed a rectangular rapid flashing beacon in a school zone crosswalk in Vernonia as part of a project to enhance safety at the intersection of Bridge and Missouri Streets. Designed and produced by the Animated Traffic Law Center in Eugene, Oregon, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing traffic-related injuries and death, the short video explains this new-to-Oregon device to both children and adults. – OregonDOT on YouTube.
