Smart Cities NYC 2017 - Powered by People

Smart Cities NYC ’17: Powered by People (May 3-6) will convene global mayors, CTOs, CIOs, and private sector and NGO leaders to explore how innovation and smart infrastructure are transforming cities, improving urban life, and creating more inclusive economies. The groundbreaking SCNYC17 conference and expo will be hosted at the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard with our multi-sector sponsors and partners, including Microsoft, Smart Dubai, and Cities for Life, among others.

Through panels, receptions and exhibitions, SNCYC17 will address emerging topics including: using big data to manage urban assets; smart governance with cloud technologies; fostering innovation with urban labs; harnessing a new creative class through entrepreneurship ecosystems; the future of automation and employment; training tech talent – and so much more! Dozens of expert-led workshops with organizations including C40, International Cleantech Network, MIT, and New York City agencies, will enable participants to learn about best practices, network with colleagues, and experience new technologies firsthand.

Visit our website for our latest agenda and speakers, who will include Ger Baron, City of Amsterdam, CTO; Daniel Doctoroff, Sidewalk Labs, Founder and CEO; Alicia Glen, NYC Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development; and Toni Townes-Whitley, Microsoft, Corporate Vice President Worldwide Public Sector.

The first event of its kind in North America, Smart Cities NYC ‘17: Powered by People highlights the growing movement for urban and civic innovation around the world. This 4-day event gives global industry leaders, technology pioneers, city officials, and policymakers a platform to present innovative solutions to urban challenges.

Hosted at the Brooklyn Navy Yard – a powerful example of the possibilities for reimagined urban space – Smart Cities NYC ‘17 creates an unprecedented opportunity for interaction, innovation, and imagination.
